| Rancho Mirage Library - July 21st, 2009 |
Victoria Kirsch, Gregorio Gonzalez and Robin Farnsley
|
It was a standing room only crowd on Tuesday night, July 21st, at the Rancho Mirage Library for the first concert presented by OperaArts. Over 350 people were welcomed by Friends of the Library President Dr. Joseph Lund, and OperaArts President Arlene Rosenthal. Selections from Puccini, Granados, Victor Herbert, Verdi, Kalman, Romberg among others cast a magical spell over the audience. The applause was thunderous for singers Gregorio Gonzalez and Robin Farnsley and pianist Victoria Kirsch. The encore from Lehar's Merry Widow was the perfect ending. It was a beautiful evening at the Library that clearly demonstrated that even during heatwaves of 114 degrees there is a great need for excellent programs such as this.
