| Opera Under The Stars will take place on Saturday April 17, 2010 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel, Indian Wells 6:30 p.m. No-host cocktail hour, dinner and show. Presentation of the St. Cecilia Patron of Music Award to Jackie Lee Houston for her years of supporting music through out our Valley. Music works its magic under the moonlight! From the gypsy campfires on the outskirts of Seville to the garrets of Bohemian Paris and the hills of Nagasaki, mezzo-soprano Cynthia Jansen, tenor Christopher Campbell, baritone Roberto Perlas Gomez join pianist and music director Victoria Kirsch in an enchanting evening of arias, duets and trios from the worlds of opera, operetta and Broadway. The program includes arias and ensembles from Carmen, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, Il Trovatore and South Pacific, as well as Debussy’s piano masterpiece, “Clair de lune” [from the Suite Bergamasque]. |
