The Arthur Newman Theater was filled for an evening to remember. One after the other the singers performed at the top of their mark, bringing thunderous applause after each number. The theater goers ranged in age from 4 years old to 84 years old. One guest was heard saying, "My husband and I, with two friends, chose to use our time share at Marriott Villas to attend this show. In all of our years we have never had anything touch our hearts like this did." It was a testament to the continuing creativity found in our local valley retired singing professionals and others still singing. Hugh Van Horn, 28, and on the Board of OperaArts added his tap dance talent to accompany Marie Shaw Wolpert in her final Charleston piece. With the piano artistry of Gale Enger, who accompanied all the evening was a smashing success. A "Meet the Artist Reception" with coffee and sweets was presented by Paula Joyce and Sanna Dahlanger of the Well in the Desert along with Joslyn Center staff and volunteers. Thanks to the Joslyn Senior Center for making this a memorable evening for all.
